Francis Gene-Rowe

Francis Gene-Rowe is Teaching Fellow in Digital Media Practices at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, specialising in game design and future-oriented media. Francis co-directs the London Science Fiction Research Community and is a member of the Radical Dreams Network’s Contestation Committee. Their practice encompasses game design, poetry, graphic design, performance, playful methods, and their work can be found via their linktree and the Goblin Futures collective.

Francis’s research interests include science fiction, utopia, queer game studies, environmental humanities, digital subcultures and divination. At present, a lot of their work constellates around divination and oracularity as technologies of care/attunement/worlding, and as vectors toward contesting techno-oligarchic thinking and rhetoric.
